House Admissions Program

What is a Leather House?

"Leather House" is a term used to describe a group within the broader BDSM and Leather Culture community that functions as a traditional family under a hierarchical structure with a central dominant figure, often referred to as the "Head of Household" who holds authority over all of the members of the House whether they be dominant, switch, submissive or slave. A Leather House generally provides a sense of belonging, camaraderie, and support for their members.

What is House Blue Flames?

House Blue Flames (the “House”) is a Leather House that is an "Independent Leather Organization" in the Ta-Seti Nation (the "Nation"). The House operates within the military-style framework of the Nation, offering an unparalleled opportunities for a sense of belonging, camaraderie, personal and professional growth, and support to individuals as they engage within a supportive network of leaders, peers, and subordinates who are dedicated to making a significant impact in education, advocacy, cultural development, and community outreach to promote the values and principles of the BDSM and Leather Culture.

Membership in House Blue Flames

Membership in the House begins with the sponsorship of an existing member of the House, membership in the Nation, and more specifically as within the Nation's hierarchical sector, the Medjay. Membership also requires adherance to the Nation's ideology of exclusive inclusivity with a specific focus on the empowerment of BIPOCs (Black and Indigenous People of Color) as leaders and leadership support.

Within the scope of the Nation's practice of exclusive inclusivity, the following membership statuses are available.

  1. Full Membership: Individuals who are BIPoC and have completed the Nation's Prospect Training Course.
  2. Allied Membership: Individuals who are non-BIPoC and have completed the Nation's Prospect Training Course. (The Nation has delayed this membership until 2030.)
  3. Prospect: Individuals who have not completed the Nation's Prospect Training Course.

This approach to membership underlines the Nation's commitment to fostering diversity and representation within its membership. It ensures that the Nation's leadership and leadership support roles which influence policies and management of the Nation remain in the exclusive domain of BIPOCs. This approach also allows the distribution of merit-based leadership and leadership support roles among the general membership, that reflects a wide range of experiences and perspectives. This approach to membership is supported by the House.
